Hearing
The Voice Of God
What is the Voice of God?
John 1:1 (NIV)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God.
In Genesis 1 God spoke the world into being.
Hebrews 1:2 (NIV)
but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed
heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
In the garden,
Adam heard the sound of God’s voice walking
in the cool of the day as He sought fellowship with Adam and Eve.
God is a communicator
Every believer’s nature has the ability to hear God’s
voice. If you are a follower of Christ, you have already heard God
speak.
John 6:44-45 (KJV)
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw
him: and I will raise him up at the last day. 45It is written in
the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore
that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
John 10:27 (KJV)
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Rev. 3:20 (KJV)
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice,
and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him,
and he with me.
Three Types of Voices
1. Still
Small Voice – Lower level of revelation. This is
the soft and gentle voice of God, which comes as we wait on the Lord
in prayer or meditation. God speaks this way for personal instruction
or encouragement.
2. Internal Audible Voice of God – Higher Level of revelation.
This is often a loud booming voice that is not coming in our thoughts,
but instead cutting through and interrupting them.
3. Audible voice of God – Highest Level of revelation. God
is speaking and all thoughts and doubt are removed.

to give you the kingdom.
